ZO Skin Health

ZO stimulator peel targets the stratum corneum (surface layer of skin). It is a gentle, superficial exfoliative procedure that can improve the appearance of large pores, rough or uneven skin texture, fine lines, acne and wrinkles. It is known as the ‘red carpet facial’ as it leaves you with a beautiful ‘glow’. There is minimal discomfort and no downtime from this procedure. It will instantly refresh your skin, cleanse and tighten the pores, soften fine lines, improve skin texture and superficial pigmentary changes.

Obagi ZO Skin Health medical facials target various skin conditions and are suitable for all skin types. Areas can include face, neck, décolletage, back, hands and arms.

Bespoke designed treatments are carried out after a thorough skin health assessment, providing lasting results with minimum downtime.

Electro-Micro Surgery/ Advanced Cosmetic Procedure

Electro-Micro Surgery /Advanced Cosmetic Procedures (ACP) using electrolysis is by cauterisation. Suitable for a wide diversity of skin lesions and blemishes which can be quickly and easily treated without cutting, stitching or leaving any scars. Offering immediate and effective results with an eventual smooth looking, blemish free skin. As far back as the early 1900’s, electrolysis was being used for the treatment of port-wine marks, broken capillaries, spider angioma, warts and xanthoma – yellow pigmented spots or plates found on the eyelids.

Facial Thread Veins

These are not broken capillaries but rather permanently dilated capillaries. They have very thin walls which constantly dilate and constrict. As we age, these vessels lose their elasticity and can become permanently dilated on the surface of the skin. There are numerous causes including: ageing, hereditary, excessive exfoliation, pregnancy, tight spectacles, smoking, energetic sports, temperature extremes and harsh weather exposure, hormones and skin fragility. They are commonly seen in a maturing ‘English Rose’ complexion.

Blood Spots

These are bright red vascular spots which lie just under the surface of the skin. They are dome shaped or slightly raised and are most common on the trunk or torso. Most people aged over 30 have at least one and they are more common in men than women.

Spider Angioma

A spider angioma is a central dilated blood vessel, with smaller capillaries radiating from it like the legs of a spider. They can be found in isolation or gathered together in clumps on areas such as the cheeks, chest or legs.

Skin Tags

Skin tags are very common and most frequently found on the neck and face. They vary in size from a tiny speck, smaller than a grain of uncooked rice, to the size of a large pea or even larger. They are often found in areas of friction such as the underarm, under the breasts or around the neck where necklaces may irritate.

Milia

These are tiny white hard lumps containing keratin which lie superficially under the surface of the skin and can be easily treated. Their exact cause is unknown, although they are often caused by use of comedogenic products or high cholesterol.

Warts

There are various types of warts, including plane, common, seborrhoeic and verrucas. All can be easily and successfully treated. Warts can develop individually or in clusters. Seborrhoeic warts become more common with increasing age and can grow to up to two inches across.

Dermatosis Papulosa Nigra

This is a common popular disorder usually in adolescence on black skin. It is identified by smooth, dome shaped, brown to black papules seen mainly on the cheeks, neck and upper chest.

Moles

Hairs from moles can be treated by those trained in ACP techniques. A Dermatolog’ist consent may be required before treatment.

Medical Micro Pigmentation

MCA and Stretch Mark Treatment

MCA Micro Needling (Also known as dry needling or multi-tripanic collagen actuation) is a procedure which improves the appearance of:

  • Scars
  • Stretch Marks
  • Burns
  • Small Trauma Scars
  • Wrinkles
  • Fine Lines
  • Acne Scars
  • Chicken Pox Scars

MCA Micro Needling is a single needle cartridge machine, making the treatment more precise unlike the Dermaroller. By working along the site of the stretch mark or scar you create a slight trauma, this triggers a healing reaction in the body which re-enforces new skin cells, building new collagen and pigment in the area. As result of dry needling the scars become flat where they were raised, pitted scars are made smoother, the appearance of wrinkles is improved and stretch marks are less noticeable and will have their natural colour back where it is lighter, as in hypo-pigmentation.

This treatment is a permanent and a natural process which does not require anything implanted into the skin. It targets only the affected area and does not cause unnecessary trauma to the unaffected parts of the skin. Each treatment starts from 30 minutes. A course of treatments is recommended depending on the depth of the scar tissue. The effects are significant, measurable and sustainable.

Dermaroller

The Dermaroller / Dermapen is a skin needling treatment that is designed to help increase the production of collagen and elastin in the skin. After anaesthetic, the small titanium needles on a cylindrical barrel rolls over the skin to puncture tiny holes in the epidermis. These tiny holes act like pathways and allow for better absorption of your topical skin care products as they can travel to the deeper layers of the skin more easily.

With this treatment, the skin is triggered into releasing a number of growth factors that stimulate the production of new collagen and elastin. This is the skin’s naturalist way of healing and repairing, the more the skin is forced to activate its repair mechanism, the more collagen it produces and the plumper and more youthful your skin will appear.

The Dermaroller can help improve the look of fine lines, wrinkles, acne scars, skin laxity, sun damaged skin and loss of firmness while increasing skin’s natural radiance for a healthier looking complexion.

It is not called the “magic wand of skin care” for nothing.

Frequently Asked Questions
(Electro Micro Surgery)

A topical medical anaesthetic is used before and during the procedure, so the treatment is not very painful and only a very slight sensation of heat is felt.

As the procedure is not full surgical excision and stitching is not involved, there will be no surgical scars. However there might be a slight skin discolouration left due to the heat used, and in most cases when the aftercare guidelines is followed, the skin heals without much trace of the treatment.

As the electro micro surgery procedure is invasive, please allow 2-4 weeks before any sun and sea exposure.

No, the anaesthetic is a topical lidocaine.

Yes, you are able to drive unless the procedure is around the eye area (please email for confirmation).

It normally takes 48hrs for the skin to scab, and can take 2-6 weeks for the scab to fall off and skin to heal (depending on your skin and the procedure).

No, the anaesthetic would penetrate the body and blood system.

You need to allow 48hrs for the scab to appear before makeup application. This is to avoid infection of the skin.

Ideally not for 48hrs until the skin is scabbed. This is to avoid infection.

Yes. The procedure of electro micro surgery is not laser, cryo sprays (which are dangerous to be used around the eye area), so it can be used for any unwanted growths from around the eye, and even inside the lashes.

With the procedure of electro micro surgery, the cyst can be reduced in size by draining it out, or shaving it down by cauterisation to reduce its size. This procedure is for cosmetic purposes and is not a full surgical cyst excision, and is not permanent. Using cauterisation the area will be sealed, and will not be stitched over, hence no surgical scars.

In some cases the sac of the cyst can be removed, but this depends on the type of cyst treated.

Please note: cysts can grow back, but not immediately and can take between 1-5 years, when the treatment can be repeated.

People frequently confuse sebaceous cysts and pilar cysts, but there are several differences between the two:

-Pilar cysts grow from your hair follicles, most frequently on your scalp. Sebaceous cysts grow from sebaceous glands that can appear almost anywhere on your body.

-Sebaceous glands secrete a substance called sebum that makes up some of the oil on your skin. Trichilemmal cysts are filled with keratin, a protein that makes hair, skin and nail cells.

-Pilar cysts are round and smooth and can grow quite large. Sebaceous cysts are tiny domes with a minuscule opening on top that will ooze sebum if you squeeze the cyst.

Pilar cysts can take 2-6 months to fully heal.

Sebaceous cysts can take 4-8 weeks to heal.

This procedure is for cosmetic removal of benign moles, and does not involve a full surgical excision, and some moles might grow back and require further treatments. There are no biopsy, or tests performed on moles, so ideally if you have concerns about your moles (bleeding, itching, changing shape or growing), best to have them checked before cosmetic removal, or forward a photo by email to advise.

Yes, when warts are fully treated, they are permanently gone without any damage to the surrounding skin, including Seborrheic Keratosis, Verruca and Molluscum Contagiosum.

The fact that she is also an artist with a steady hand made me feel much more comfortable. All went very well with the electrolysis. She was fast and efficient and really knew what she was doing! Very minimal pain was experienced and absolutely no scarring or bruising! I wish I could have her here in NYC with me!

Jilla treated me with a facial peel, which left my skin extremely smooth and soft and in so much better condition than prior to my treatment. I found Jilla to be very enthusiastic about her work and she carefully explained how the treatment would work and performed it with a high degree of precision and professionalism.
